Heartbroken

Heartbroken, A Free Verse Poem By Walk In Verse

Half past four
A knock on the door,
The news came in
My heart did spin.

Onto the floor
My eyes did explore
The past days
Of things gone astray.

I saw the scene
Like an hourglass dream;
The sands slipped through
Directly on queue.

And at the end
My heart did not mend,
It’s broken in two
And there nothing I can do.
