The Drug Addict

The drug addict,
The sadistic manic:
Popping pills,
Seeking thrills
For the next joint
… He kills.

And all the while
He lies in style;
He couldn’t tell the truth
If his life was on the line,

For in his mind,
The dope fiend junky,
Life is designed
For getting high;
No one will dare
To tell him otherwise —
G-d knows, I tried.
