Upon a Hill

Upon a hill, young men died
As battlefield ballistics clarified,
"The afterworld will breathe new life."

For upon that hill, a battle engaged:
Crimson colored pools
Drank the blood of the brave.

Rotted bodies became the terrain;
Their coffin, the earth where they lay,
Life exchanged for political gain.
